Pathankot: The Bhagwant Singh Mann government today transferred monthly financial assistance to the accounts of 3.55 million women under the ‘Mavan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 6.85 million. Speaking at a financial assistance distribution event held in Pathankot under this scheme, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that women across Punjab are receiving combined three-month installments of ₹3,000 and ₹4,500; meanwhile, women who are recipients of widow, disability, or old-age pensions are—for the first time in the state—being provided an additional honorarium of ₹1,000 or ₹1,500
The Chief Minister stated that another 5 lakh women have registered under this scheme over the past seven days, bringing the total number of registrations to 73.5 lakh, with the registration process for eligible beneficiaries continuing across the state. Sharing glimpses of the gathering on his ‘X’ handle, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann wrote: “We have fulfilled yet another significant promise today to make the mothers and sisters of Punjab financially self-reliant.” He noted that after transferring the honorarium to 33 lakh women on July 1, funds have now been deposited into the accounts of another 35.5 lakh women. He further added that sisters who submitted their forms later would also receive three months’ installments in a lump sum.
Concluding the post, the Chief Minister wrote, “This is your rightful due. From now on, you will not have to depend on anyone else to meet your own needs or those of your children. The Aam Aadmi Party fulfills the promises it makes and turns its guarantees into reality. Inquilab Zindabad.” Addressing the event, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that he had fulfilled all the promises and guarantees made to the people of the state. He said, “I have now fulfilled the promise made to the mothers and sisters of the state. This is your money, and you do not need to ask anyone before spending or using it. Last July, I gave this gift to 33 lakh mothers and sisters, and today, funds have been transferred to the accounts of another 35.5 lakh mothers and sisters.” He mentioned that five lakh additional women had registered under the scheme in just the last seven days.
Recalling moments from before the event, the Chief Minister said, “On my way here, a sister tied a *Rakhi* on my wrist and said that her brother would give her a *Shagun* (gift) today. All the leaders of our party were common people, yet the people of the state made me the Chief Minister.” He remarked that even as he spoke, the funds would likely have already been credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann noted that beneficiaries were already receiving notifications on their mobile phones regarding the transfer of funds. He said, “I had instructed officials to ensure the money was deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts. I have fulfilled all the promises and guarantees made to the people. I only commit to what is achievable—nothing else.”
The Chief Minister stated that beneficiaries are free to utilize the financial assistance according to their needs. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “You can use this money for any requirement—whether it is buying toys for your grandchildren, giving *Shagun* (ceremonial gifts), or paying fees. You are free to spend this money however you wish. Today, another 3.55 million mothers are receiving the same amount that was disbursed on July 1st.” The Chief Minister mentioned that, starting today, over 7.3 million mothers and sisters would benefit from this scheme. He added, “This is simply a way to honor all my mothers and sisters. Every mother and sister in Punjab has received a lump sum of ₹3,000 covering three months’ installments, while mothers and sisters belonging to the Scheduled Caste category have received a lump sum of ₹4,500 for the months of July, August, and September.”
The Chief Minister affirmed that every eligible woman would receive the benefits of this scheme, regardless of when she completed her registration. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated, “Anyone who fills out the form now will receive the funds starting July 1, 2026; there is no need to worry, as your brother stands firm to protect your interests. Funds are being transferred directly to bank accounts, and women already receiving social security pensions will also be eligible for this scheme. Approximately 97 percent of women in Punjab are expected to benefit from this scheme, and our government has allocated ₹9,300 crore in the budget.” The Chief Minister remarked that the scheme aims to ensure due respect and dignity for women. He added, “While this scheme may not make women wealthy, it will certainly grant them respect and dignity.
Women deserve the utmost respect as they are the source of life, and the blessings of mothers and sisters can help overcome any challenge in the world. Strengthening women’s financial autonomy is crucial for improving household well-being, promoting gender equality, and increasing women’s participation in social and economic decision-making.” Senior AAP leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia said, “The Chief Minister has already fulfilled every promise made to the people of the state, and this is no exception. Bhagwant Mann is a widely accepted Chief Minister who is working tirelessly for the welfare of every section of society.” Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia and Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Dr. Baljit Kaur, and Lal Chand Kataruchak commended the Chief Minister for this initiative aimed at ensuring dignity for women.
