Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Patiala, Dr. Himanshu Agarwal said that special camps will be organized at all polling booths in Patiala district on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to help voters check and verify their names in the draft voters list published under Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the draft voters list was published on August 13, and the second phase of SIR-2026, which began on August 13, will continue till September 12, 2026. During the special camps, booth level officers will be present at their respective polling booths from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to assist voters.
The Deputy Commissioner said that voters can visit the special camps to check and verify their names and details in the draft voters list. Eligible voters whose names have been left out can also submit Form 6, Form 6A and Form 8, wherever applicable, along with the necessary declaration and supporting documents.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the BLOs have sufficient copies of Form 6 and 8 available in the camps and the duly filled forms are duly submitted to the concerned Electoral Registration Officers.
Dr. Himanshu Agarwal also appealed to all eligible voters to make the most of the special camps and actively participate in the SIR-2026 process. He said that the recognized political parties are also being informed about the camps through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure maximum participation of the people.
He directed the concerned departments to ensure that the polling booth buildings remain open on August 16 and all necessary arrangements are made for the smooth functioning of the camps. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the citizens to participate in the special camps and carefully verify their names and details in the draft voters list so that eligible voters can exercise their right to vote without any difficulty.
