Health and Family Welfare Minister of Punjab Dr. Bhagwant Singh Mann aims to further strengthen primary health services in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Maan. Balbir Singh today inaugurated a new Aam Aadmi Clinic at Vikas Nagar (near Siuna Chowk) in rural Patiala, said that with the start of 100 new Aam Aadi clinics across the state, the number of these clinics in Punjab has now reached 1,090.
Addressing on the occasion Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said the aim of the Punjab government is to ensure that every citizen has access to quality and free health services close to their homes. These common man clinics are being set up for the same purpose so that people do not have to travel long distances for treatment.
ਡਾ. Balbir Singh told that every Aam Aadmi clinic is eligible for MBBS. The doctor ,
Trained nursing staff and other required staff have been deployed. Patients visiting these clinics are provided 100 percent free of charge with all primary health services including medical consultations, check-ups, required medications and various diagnostic tests.
They said that Aam Aadmi Clinic is playing an important role in strengthening the primary health system in the state. Through these, more than 42 thousand pregnant women are provided with the necessary health checkups, advice and care during pregnancy. In addition, more than 1.25 lakh patients suffering from non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure are being given regular treatment, medication and follow-up services, enabling continuous monitoring of their health.
The Health Minister said the Punjab government is fully committed to delivering quality and modern health services to every section of the state. They said that people are saving both time and money through Aam clinics, while people’s confidence in the government health system is also steadily growing stronger. He said that in the future more health facilities will be expanded as needed so that every citizen gets timely and better treatment.
Officials and locals present on the occasion praised the initiative of the Punjab Government and said that Aam Aadmi Clinics are proving to be a boon to the people and that primary health services in villages and urban areas have taken a new direction.
On this occasion Patiala Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Anuprita Johal, MC Jasbir Gandhi, Devinder Kaur, Civil Surgeon Dr. Shelley Jaitley, SMO Tripuri Dr. Apart from Parneet Kaur, health department officials were present.
